Broker's licenses must be renewed by June 30th every even numbered year.
Salesperson's licenses must be renewed by September 30th every even numbered year.

Each real estate licensee holding an active license shall complete during the two (2)-year license period prior to renewal a minimum of twelve (12) hours of real estate instruction approved for continuing education credit by the Missouri Real Estate Commission. Additional CE credit hours do NOT roll over to the next renewal.
At least three (3) of the twelve (12) hours of approved instruction shall be taken in a course approved by the Missouri Real Estate Commission as core credit.
For the 2024 renewal the 3 hour Missouri required “CORE” course is "FAIR HOUSING".
To retain membership with the National Association of REALTORS, Code of Ethics is required but is also an elective in Missouri.
The balance of the twelve (12) hours shall consist of courses approved for either core or elective continuing education credit by the Missouri Real Estate Commission.
A licensee having MREC hold their license is "inactive" and not required to take continuous education, though payment to retain their license with MREC is required before the license renewal deadline or will have to start all over if wishes to return to active.
A MO licensee who has reached 80 years of age may complete the online CE waiver for submission to MREC requesting a waiver of their CE but do this as soon as possible before the renewal deadline.
